Beauty: Avène Eau Thermale Spring Water

Over the past year, I have been spending more time researching the purpose of different products, ingredients, and their use. One of the products that have really assisted in adding hydration to my face is face mists. I tested several brands and have thoroughly enjoyed the Avène Eau Thermale Spring Water. Avene is a Parisian skincare brand based on water. Their thermal spring water was specifically formulated for sensitive, hypersensitive, and intolerant skin. It is a gentle formula developed to bring comfort to sensitive skin. According to Avene, "the thermal spring water has a unique and constant composition that gives it soothing and anti-irritating properties which have been proven by numerous scientific studies."

Use

The reason for the inclusion of a face mist in my skincare routine was the time lag between cleansing and applying my toner. I use the Avène Eau Thermale Spring Water to refresh my face to ensure proper absorption of the toners and serums. If I have a lot of time, I enjoy applying it between layers to ensure each serum, moisturiser, and essence are properly absorbed into my skin. I particularly enjoy applying it after using my retinol serum in the evenings whenever my skin feels slightly irritable. 

A game-changer in my makeup routine is refreshing my face with the Avène Eau Thermale Spring Water before applying my primer and foundation. I add an extra spray around my eye area to help hydrate my under-eye creases, to ensure that my concealer and colour corrector applies smoothly. 

Alternatively, you can use the Avène Eau Thermale Spring Water as an after hair removal treatment; to treat itchiness of the skin; after a surgical procedure; damaged skin; after exercise; during travel; sunburn; diaper rash; and Facial redness.

Avène Eau Thermale Spring Water is definitely a product that receives mixed reviews as to whether or not it is an essential product. I have used the Avène Eau Thermale Spring Water for the past two years and have enjoyed adding it to my regime. It doesn't matter whether you buy into the craze of facial mists or not; they are here to stay, and Avène's Eau Thermale Spring Water might not be on every cafe table during the summer as it is in Paris, but it will certainly remain on our shelves.
